May God bless the members of the 1986-87 USAF Thunderbird Team. There are a few gentlemen in this video who made a very deep and direct contribution to paths in my life! Thank you and may God shine over you and bless you and your families were ever you may be today! I would like them to know that I shale always be grateful for those contributions! This is how I see America everyday when I close my eyes. God Bless The Red, White and Blue! I took my boys to see them at the airshow opening of the Branson Airport. That was the first time I'd seen a Thunderbird's show since 1988. I had to come home and dig out all my photos and show my boys all the cool people and things my Mother and I were privileged to those two years.

I was driving past the Branson airport opening when it was happening on company business, and it looked like Katrina refugees trying to get out of N'awlins.
Traffic nose to back bumper, still as a stone, and backed up for miles. For most folks, it might have been faster to park the car in Omaha Arkansas, and walk in to the airport. However did you actually get in? Drive down the night before and slept in the parking lot? |

I still worked at the airport here. A bunch of us pooled funds and got VIP tickets which allowed us upfront parking at a separate entrance to the show. Also the front row all you can eat tent right next to the flight line.

My recruiter actually took me to the airshow in Omaha in 88-89 so I could take my oath from the Thunderbirds. I was still in school but had everything in line to join so he let me tag along and participate, in front of a crowd of thousands. Sadly it wasn't to long after that my health problems were discovered and the service was forever out.

Great photo James....... thought you would have been on the Angels groundcrew!
I've got a Blue Angels watch somewhere, it came from my USN captain friend, it was given to him when they visited 'his' base, I'll try and find it (it's just some cheap thing). cheers, -John

I found the Blue Angels watch............
![]() I checked to see how many Blue Angels watches were on Ebay, apart from all the Citizen Ecco drive watches and a Breitling there were only about two Blue Angels watches there.... strange! (Maybe Blue angels merchandise is tightly controlled?). cheers, -John
