Can't PM - Page 2 - The Military Watch Resource

I am still not quite sure what the threshold is before I am allowed to do a PM? Is it length of memebership, or is it number of posts, or both? Do I need to have at least 30 posts and get past Junior member?

I really just want to ask Bob Z. a question about a watch he had for sale & see if he still has it. But, I cannot PM him, so I don't think he realizes I left him a question in the forum where he posted a watch for sale. Or, maybe he does not have the watch anymore, not sure.

Since I'm mostly here to learn, and won't have much to contribute (at least at first) I'm having the same issue.

I found some information for a member that was requested in the main forum and posted it into their thread. The thread is now about a month old and I have a feeling the thread starter might have given up and won't go back and find what I've provided. I'd PM otherwise, but can't.

I'd also like to ask a member about repairing/ servicing my early war hamilton 992B (i took a spill while it was in my pocket and now it runs fast) but I can't PM that person either.

I really don't want to go to a bunch of threads that I find interesting and only contribute "cool" or something equally useless- will I be able to PM after a certain amount of time or do I have to sit it out until I eventually have enough PMs? It seems like both have been mentioned above...

The minimum post to PM explains it. Too bad I didn't know that. I joined when I saw a watch I am chasing on watchrecon. I spent too much time trying to figure out how to PM the seller when I could have just replied. Missed out by literally 1 minute

Me too. Isnt it better to get several "captcha"-fields to apply in the registration form? That way you won't get any spam bots that register, i believe.

Well, put your email address into your profile (it won't be shown) and then people can email you from your profile.

Anyhow, I think the bar is only 10 posts before you can PM.

If you look at your Public Profile you will see that under your Contact Info other members can't PM you!

Try clicking onto Quick Links and then Edit Options.

Under Private Messaging tick the Enable Private Messaging box and then Save Changes.
