Default An erbsentarn nato strap I have been working on

    Hi,

I have been trying to recreate something resembling an erbsentarn / pea camo nato strap. I got pretty severely burnt with the first iteration on Omega Forum, and wanted to share some pictures with you, as well as the actual thread:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/had-...houghts.70608/

Please let me know if you have additional comments and ideas to improve the design. I am thinking of trying a version with more yellow, printed on a regular nylon nato.

    Thanks to all
    Emilien D.

Go with the solid color that camo reminds me of the Sinn this one

It makes me cringe every time I see that Sinn your straps close to that Sinn solid color the way to go.

I am not familiar with the term “erbsentarn.” Could you explain more?

Without beating a dead horse, I'll just say that I agree with the critical comments stated in the Omega Forum and recommend going with a solid color - any color - except a camouflage pattern.

Camo to do camo, meh. NATO's made from old camo uniforms, cool!

If you signed that Georges Seurat, it would be worth a fortune .

I don't like camouflage straps, but these are a work of art!

I'll be the first to say that I really like your strap edantony. I think it looks great. How did you make it? Did you paint it yourself?

Hi Camerajoe and thank all of you for your feedback.
I had the camo pattern designed and the strap prototyped in China. I was thinking about maybe selling some down the road, but given the feedback I'll rework and try again with a tweaked nylon strap.
The alaska is hardly suited to thst strap, true.
As for the idea itself, I love camo designs from ww2, so Ive been working on erbsentarn and other panzer patterns. Will show when I have more prototypes.
I am also opening an etsy shop soon with embroidered seatbelt natos. Will see how that goes

Hi Emilien, I thought the reaction on the omega thread was reasoned and gentle :-) its a matter of taste, as with here some like it, most don't.

For me, the shrinking of the pattern make it too busy, my eye has nowhere to settle, that's why the pics of the full size camo work better for me. Good luck with the venture

If you had one of those straps on a watch with a Dennison case then it would Double Dennison. I'd celebrate that by eating venison and reading Tennyson.

I imagine that Double Dennison (sic) is rather like double denim.

Well...if you are trying to 'sell' it to the Omega community sticking it on an Alaska Project is probably the worst watch you can use for your 'demo'. I don't even like my Alaska Project on the Omega Steel Bracelet. It only looks good on the White Velcro band or a Black sailcloth strap.

Besides Omega already tried with a Camo strap (of sorts) their replica of the NASA strap using Swiss Army Camo cloth.
