Thread: Anyone recognise these markings?

    Default Anyone recognise these markings?

Got this at a car boot fair. The marking on the handle looks kind of Boy Scout-ish, but the lion rampant in a shield on the leather sheath is new to me.
6-inch blade, heavy solid handle. Chromed metal parts on the sheath.
Hope someone has seen similar, or know why these two symbols would be used on the same combination.

    Cheers, Bob.

it's the wrong sheath for that blade..

the emblem on the knife handle should be visible when the knife is sheathed -

probably vintage boy scout circa 1960s..

Dave, as usual you come up trumps!
    Better look for a sheath...

Edit- Although I did notice your example has the emblem on the opposite side of the handle. Wanna swap sheaths?

You got me looking Dave, and I came up with this:

I wonder if this is a Belgian scout knife from the Flemish Brabant in the Flanders region, the red badge matches and the lion rampant too, except reversed...

BTW Dave, your knife looks to be for a left hander, mine for a right. I am of the sinister persuasion.

the one that I posted with the same emblem was a web archive image -

if I recall correctly it was stated that it was made in Spain.

I did used to own one very similar to this one though -
