Default Omega 6B/159 56 lug question

    Hi all,

I've been lurking for a while now and thought I should join and say hi...and ask a question (:

There was a pretty nice example of a Omega 6B/139 56 on eBay that sold today. I noticed that one of the lugs had a hole drilled into it with a bar fitted into it. From what I've read this is called a blind lug? I looked at other examples of this watch case and some have the lugs drilled and others dont.

I thought that the lug might have broken but the lugs look about the same length. So I thought maybe the bar broke and they cut off the old bar and drilled a hole to put in a new bar?

Am I on the right track or totally in left field?

Thanks in advance for your insight...I really love learning about all these interesting watches!

    Anthony

    welcome to the MWR forum.

the above images probably relate to the watch in question.

the case, case lugs and fixed bars are all fine; it is just the brushing on the case.

you are probably referring to the 5 o'clock lug; the bar is also just visible on the 1 o'clock lug.

Ah thanks Dave...bummed that I lost the auction by 20 pounds! It's good to know that is a good example though. I'll make sure to save the pics to my computer.

for reference the type designation is 6B/159 and not 6B/139 just in case you were putting that wrongly into your searches; I have also amended your WTB..
