    Very nice collection. You push me closer to the edge of the "need" cliff. Every time I see a pic of a Cairelli I get a little panic attack.

    Beautiful watches but I can't see your 1st 2 pics.

    I wasn't aware that there were so many variations of watches issued by Leonidas, Breitling, etc issued to AMI.

    A few years ago, I saw an interesting Lemania single button HS9 type watch issued to Instituto Idrografica d. Marina in a shop near P.d. Popolo. Very beautiful and I was told later by Andea (who used to post here) that these were issued to Italian Navy ships. I didn't buy it since I didn't know anything about these watches and Andrea later said there were fakes around.

    Might be "little", but very premium and desirable examples. Jealous!

    ...the other picture missing

    @Hockman:
    I know the dealer, about the series of Lemania in italian service, there are two type , one "Istituto Idrografico Regia Marina" and one "Istituto Idrografico Marina Militare".
    About both type are a great "Minefield", many watches with dials reprint.
    The watches "good" They have the engraved serial in the lower part of the lug with often not corresponding with the one engraved on the case back.

    Here the Heuer 510.543 which replaced the Leonidas CP2 and Zenith A.Cairelli in 1982

    This is the Lemania 11022 issued pilots of Guardia di Finanza ( only 266 since 1993 to 1996) The last batch were delivery with some watches with the day disk in english/german language !!!

    I had an Italian watch from WW2. Every evening at about a quarter to eight it would stop and then run backwards. I think it was always happened around about 19:43.
    "Early this year I saw ex-army watches exhibited in a showcase at a little under 4 each. A week or two later I succeeded in buying one of them for 5. Recently their price seems to have risen to 8." (George Orwell, "As I Please", Tribune, 29th November 1946)
