Dial has been restored, looks to be an old restoration. Hands are not original.

The entire watch is a put togeather. The movement dates from the 60-th when Weems watches were already obsolete. Hope you didn't pay much.

This is how a Movado should look like:

Is there anything genuine on this "Weems"?

Doesn't remontage basically translate to remade? Ask for your dough back.

Between "remade" and total fake is still a difference.

I'd just assumed these where much later Weems re-editions, Movado made. Not attractive, but on par with other poor remakes made by other watch makers, trying to repair flagging sales.

the Airforce 1 early Nineties remake of the 1936 Eterna big Pilot seems by comparison to be a closer fit. Well excusing the silly crown to rotate the inner bezel, and the bloody ubiquitous date window.

thanks for all the feedback! Im going to cancel the transaction. By the way, for something like this, what would it be worth? 500 euros?

I've wondered about this watch and am tempted to agree with Paul... movement could be decent, the case is cheap non steel material but interesting looking, as does the dial.
What really looks cheap IMO are the crowns and hands, which I feel could even be replacements, as the style of those flimsy hands doesn't remotely match the chunkiness of the watch...
I would not pay 500 of any major currency for it in any event.
Could be interesting to see when that caliber was being used.

    "Remontage manuel" means "hand wound"
