Default Longines www vs. Omega 53 RAF fat arrow

Odd question perhaps, but If you had to choose one over the other, which would win?

Yes they are different and the longines is generally more, but if you could only have one, which would you choose?

100% it would have to be the omega 1953 thin arrow

.........then longines www which unlike others i'm not keen on...fussy stepped case.............poor hands

Omega hands down. Longines is overpriced and over-rated. Too small. Clunky.

in all fairness, it's slightly unfair to compare the two, they are from different era's. I had a long lugged Longines WWW and it was a beautiful watch. The Omega is undoubtedly a great watch....though i must confess to never liking either the WWW one or the '53, as i thought both lacked that something special . Pity, as i'd have made a bob or two. So my vote goes to the Longines.

Funny but I felt the same way about the '53 that somehow it was lacking something, while for me I much prefer the Omega WWW instead. I found it less garish/clunky and a bit more refined and for me it's a classic. The Longines WWW to me is elegant with that stepped case and beautiful dial with classic skeleton hands .. Watch design is a bit like being an art lover.. everyone gets something different out of it,.

My vote goes to the '53. Spent it's time in the clouds not the mud. Bigger chunkier on the wrist with the faraday cage. That said I love the gilt Longines 12:68 cal movement. Fast jets and propellers. Smell of Castrol, avgas and a bit of leather has it. And don't start me on that Greenlander misnomer. Ian.

Being lucky enough to own both I'm with Ian love the movement in the Longines but the Omega edges it for me especially the original thin arrow.

    Kind regards,

    Nick.

FA 53 pour moi. One of the first military watches I owned and one that still ticks all the boxes for me - size, looks, wearability and decent quality.
