Question Marathon JDD vs CWC ROYAL NAVY AUTO DIVERS WATCH

Considering a new military diver. Please advise. Thank you

    Marathon
    46mm
    day date
    springbars
    tritium tubes

    CWC
    42mm
    no date
    fixed springbars
    Luminova

Other than both being diving watches they don't seem to have much in common. I'd get CWC but only because I have small hands :-)

Thank you. I don't have any of either watch in my collection of divers.

They are both nice watches. Which CWC RN do you want and which Marathon are you considering? I have owned several of each brand

Is the JDD an actual issued watch like the TSAR? It's also a pretty big watch, I found the TSAR quite big enough. For actual use I'd choose the TSAR unless you have huge hands.
    cheers, John

JDD is an "issued" watch in that it can be purchased through the supply system. CWC auto diver I'm not sure, although I don't think so unless a unit/command did an "open" purchase. The JDD is huge, similar size as the CSAR which is mcbh too big for my 6.5" wrist.

Not sure if the Marathon is an "issued watch". I think the JDD is 46 mm.

A quick note on "issued watches" from a US military perspective.

The JDD has a NSN on the back with country code 21 (Canada), the US military country code is 00 / 01.
Typically if this watch were ordered through normal US military logistics chain, some questions of FWA may arise and possibly a request from the supply depot which TOA has authorized this purchase over another suitable sub watch with the 00 / 01 country code.
If Marathon makes a JDD with the US country code (not sure if they do), as long as the TOA is followed, ordering through the normal supply channels shouldn't present an issue.

Thanks to all the responses. I think I am going with the Marathon JDD. Maybe get CWC at a later time.
