I called this win from the beginning. A complete repudiation of the liberal elite, Barack Obama and the Republican party. It was/is a revolt without guns.
Barry's legacy will be reduced to the bad joke that it was and all of that <deleted word - IAP> "executive orders" will be removed. The hysterical children can all go home crying.

Selling snake-oil to Americans - good business in the 18th century, good business today.

Without American, there would be no France as we know today.

It was a time when words and thoughts weight more than numbers....

We wait and see, with some anguish.

I agree with DaveH that this was a much needed upset and wake up call for US politics.

Let's just see how things go now that the Republicans control everything (Presidency, House and Senate). Due to the divisiveness of the President-elect I don't think that it will be anything like smooth sailing, even within his own party, as he tries to implement some of his campaign trail promises. Hopefully, he will choose some good people to surround himself with, but he has an awful lot of bridges to rebuild, not least with many of the US population.

Trump's appeal to some and his downside for others was his refusal to let himself be guided by political correctness. He said the things that half of Americans were concerned about but couldn't express their feelings without having someone calling them a racist and wagging a finger at them. If I recall political correctness started with the Clintons along with the terrible habit of pointing at people from a stage. It is a tool straight out of Lenin's handbook. For our European friends, this is how 20 million foreign invaders can take over a nation of 300M and make the citizens feel ashamed about it.

I think political correctness started way before the Clintons. It was in the '90s when the phrase became popular with those on the right to use in a negative way.

Just did a short read on the term, very interesting. First recorded usage was in 1793. Came in to more widespread usage in the early to mid 20th century in reference to the differences between Communist Party Members and the American Socialist movement.

According to American educator Herbert Kohl, writing about debates in New York in the late 1940s and early 1950s,

The term "politically correct" was used disparagingly, to refer to someone whose loyalty to the CP line overrode compassion, and led to bad politics. It was used by Socialists against Communists, and was meant to separate out Socialists who believed in egalitarian moral ideas from dogmatic Communists who would advocate and defend party positions regardless of their moral substance.

Agree. I'd rather have Putin smiling and shaking hands with Trump over a trade deal than Vlad coming through the Fulda Gap with 2000 tanks. Clinton was an expert in starting and not finishing conflict. Libya, Syria, Egypt maybe the Boko Harum, all have her name on them. Obama was air dropping arms ammunition and vehicles to ISIS for quite a while until they could no longer hide it. There are You Tube films of the drops taking place and an especially bad one of US Blackhawks flying air cover for a convoy of brand new Toyota trucks with smiling ISIS driving them. There is also a fairly long You Tube clip of Putin holding a press conference explaining what Barry and Hillabeast were doing. The audience was US reporters. But of course none of this stuff is seen in mainstream media here.

Dave we got to remember history Prime minister Chamberlain did it to Hitler letting him invade parts of Czechoslovakia and did this speech
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_for_our_time
You can't apiece a dictator like Putin you give him a inch they take the whole enchilada or try like Hitler did and the whole world paid for it. I see the Ukraine as a problem like Czechoslovakia was in the beginning of WW2 and Putin being Hitler and Trump being Chamberlain hope history don't repeat it self if we had another World War this world would not survive this time. You can't be nice to a dictator you got to be tough and hold your ground don't show your weakness they will take advantage of it and roll over you like a steam roller. I remember the cold war well our battle group was close to Russia the USS Kitty Hawk ran over one of there subs a victor class sub they had to towed it back to Russia we did not take shit from them then and still believe should we don't take any crap from any body today.
