    Default Another Ebay win.....

    Hi,
I saw this issue Streamlight Sidewinder LED light for just $25 on Ebay, the seller said that except for the red LED, everything worked fine; for the price I thought it was still worth it.

When it arrived I found that it was the aviator model with white, blue, green & IR modes and had never had red...... so it was working perfectly! (I checked the IR LED looking through my Iphone).

With the adjustable head and four brightness settings for each colour (strobe too) it really is a handy light and I have used it quite a bit already.

    Cheers, John

Yes, it has been issued to the USMC since 2011, took the place of the old right angled D-cell light...... less than 1/2 the size & weight and much more practical.

Do the tan keepers come with the light? They seem pretty snug, what are they for?

The part elastic strap came with this used light, I think they are an extra, they are made to hold the light onto a vertical strap or to make sure it will not come off a horizontal strap.

The keepers are for mounting the unit on a MOLLE vest, they work reasonably well. Tight enough to keep it secure but loose enough to slip out quickly if needed, you really only have to undue the button to re-insert the light.

Thanks dc for the explanation. I also found a used one on the bay, working night shift right now so this may come in handy on my vest.
