    Question Email Notifications for PMs

Is it possible to get an email notification when a new PM is received? I can't find a setting for that anywhere.

They should be automatically sent by the system. Check your junk/spam folders and filters.

This morning I received a reply to a PM I sent last night but never got an email notice (not even in my junk folder).

I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Could just be a glitch in the email system.

To be honest, I never need to rely on the email notification as I check the forum multiple times daily.

FWIW - I just sent myself a PM and received email notification within a minute.

A reply to that PM also generated an email notification that was received within a couple of minutes.

Can you send yourself a PM and see if you get an email notification ?

Post Email Notification of New Private Messages

    Go to:

    Settings

My Settings / My Account / General Settings

    Private Messaging

Email Notification of New Private Messages

Receive / Don't receive Email Notification of new Private Messages

You can turn this function on/off here; mine is turned off.

Maybe someone here can help me...several days of emailing to administrators has gotten me nothing but silence.

I've been a member about 10 days, but I still can't send emails or PMs. I've missed a couple of purchases because of it. I was told I had to wait 7 days before those features would be enabled, but they still aren't available to me. In looking this thread, I've now discovered that I can't even adjust any settings regarding PMs. I went to my settings page like Dave mentioned above, and I don't even have the choices available that he mentions.

For some reason, I'm apparently still being blocked from having full access to these features. Not hearing from someone when I've asked for help has been additionally frustrating. Could someone PLEASE help me sort this out?

Just discovered on another technical thread that you have to have 10 posts before you can PM. True?

yes, you are correct in your assumption: there is time period and post count criteria that must be met before you can PM; looking at your profile page it would appear that your PM is now enabled.

    welcome to MWR; enjoy.

Yep...works now. I was informed about the time period but had to dig for the post count number. I was a little aggravated, but I've settled down now that my medicine (single malt scotch) has kicked in.
