Question CYMA WWW miltary watch glass repair?

I am the proud owner of a 1940's CYMA WWW military watch.
Recently the glass cracked. Now I am desperately looking for any replacemanet glass to repair my watch. Where could I best try my luck?
I would appreciate any answer or advice.
    Thanks in advance,
    Roy Villevoye, Amsterdam

Default I would head to a watch maker and get them to measure it up

The Cyma has a big flanged crystal. I'm not sure if there is a direct GS replacement.

A number of people have had Cyma WWWs restored and/or have asked for a replacement crystal, so hopefully they will chime in with some information.

I have quite a few Cyma's, some with original, some without. My watch repairer know the size and type of the replacement ones that best fit. I'll pop in this weekend and ask him.

GS still makes a number of flanged plastic crystals. If you give me the dimensions, I see if they have one in their current catalog.

Or if you are bored, or impatient, you a=can look here in Sternkreuz's catalog.:

    Default Cyma WWW crystal repair

ianp, foilguy and lysander thank you all for your response.
I was out for the weekend, and was surprised to find that many responses to my question when I came back home. I have been visiting an IWC watch repair shop here in Amsterdam. They told me that it would be very hard to find a spare or replacement crystal since indeed the original crystal has these special reliefs to fit in the ring.

I am a military watch enthousiast, but not a specialist. So I don't have the skills to search for a measurement from the crystal. So no idea where to search and what to find in the Sternkreuze catalogue. Hoping to hear more from you.

Unfortunately I don't manage to attach an image to my message, otherwise I could show the watch here. Would probably make my question more clear.

    Helo foilguy,

    Your message sounds very promissing!
I hope to hear more from you after your visit to your watchrepairer.

    Post C Y M A . . .

    Hi Roy,

Apparently the usual practice nowadays is to screw the internal crystal retaining ring fully home and then to use a slightly oversized conventional crystal . . .

    It's not ideal, but it works . . .

    Best regards,

    Dave.

Thanks very much for the advice Dave, but at the moment it sounds like the emergency repair. I keep it in mind, certaiunly. But for now I try my patience still to see if someone has an idea about where there might still be an original flanged Cyma WWW glass available.
    Best,

    Roy

    Hello foilguy,

Have you indeed managed to pass by your watch repairer to ask about the Cyma crystal? Do you know anything more? I am eager to hear.
    Best,

    Roy

Hi. just noticed this thread after buying a nice radium dial Cyma yesterday and in need of a replacement glass. Sternkreuz 344/310 does the job. Cheers, Ian.

Man, talk about resurrecting a thread from the dead

John Senior had some NOS Cyma crystals in stock last year when I had mine replaced.
